Tweak your subject lines so your customers are enticed to want more.

The subject line is the awesome new sign you put outside your business so people walking across the street are curious enough to walk in and check things out. Here are some tips to make your Email Subject Line pop and increase open rate:

  1. Keep your subject line under 45-50 characters. Many email clients cut you off right around there.
  2. Segmentation is important here – you can have a friendlier tone with customers who’ve been in more recently, but perhaps you want to be more formal with your inactive customer base.
  3. If you have an incentive in your email, try to include it in your subject line message.

This is a great opportunity for early access to new features and inside information. Plus you get a gift when you sign up, so what’s not to love?

Major Changes to Facebook and What You Need to Know

Update: Facebook has decided to implement a slow roll out with the new changes I outline below.  As quoted by Stefan Parker, Facebook UI Engineer, on Quora, “We are aiming to start letting users opt into Timeline in the next two to four weeks. There is no set date though.”

Facebook is at it again. On September 22, Mark Zuckerberg revealed at the F8 conference the new updates to Facebook and its users’ personal profiles. But will these changes affect your business? You bet.

Facebook is always changing.  Keep up to date with our blog to make sure you aren’t caught off guard!

Facebook’s Updated Settings

On August 23rd, Facebook made significant changes to users’ privacy settings and users’ ability to share content.

Facebook users can now alter their privacy settings right on their profile, instead of having to jump through numerous hoops in the old “Privacy Settings” page.  Users can easily control who sees their profiles, status updates, and tagged photos on the right-hand side of their profile.

Use Google+ to grow your business NOW

At the moment, Google+ is for individuals only and not allowing the creation of business profiles – Mashable.com, Ford, Sesame Street and others managed to get invited and immediately opened a brand page. Mashable.com, the technology site, had 103,000 followers by the time Google+ put a stop to businesses on their platform and removed all those pages. Which is a shame, as Google+ seems ideal for businesses and business owners. (more…)
